Female P. perfiliewi s.l. is distinguished from the other Larroussious females by its spermathecal ducts with large lateral pockets at the base. This complex includes three members: P. perfiliewi , Phlebotomus galilaeus , and Phlebotomus transcaucasicus . The specific identification of the females of this complex is impossible. Therefore molecular diagnosis is recommended especially where these members distribute sympatrically.
