Culex perexiguus Theobald, 1903
Type-loc: Lebanon
This species has prealas scales and a basal pale band on the abdomen. Difficult to see the white scales on the basal part of the wing thus can be confused with Culex brumpti. Longitudinal pale band on the tibia is very thin so can be confused with Culex pipiens s.l. so it needs attention on the wing and legs. Very similar to Culex univittatus and can be distinguished by examining the genitalia of the male.
