Anopheles hyrcanus (F)

Anopheles (Anopheles) hyrcanus (Pallas), 1771

CARACTERES DIAGNOSTIQUES
An. hyrcanus est proche d’An. ziemanni et d’An. tenebrosus dont il se distingue, entre autre, par son tarsomère 4-III entièrement blanc alors que le tarsomère 5-III est noir.

BIOLOGIE DE L'ESPÈCE
Largement distribuée de l'Asie (Japon, Chine) à l'Europe (Italie, France), cette espèce a été signalée en Libye et en Algérie.
Les larves se rencontrent dans les marais bien ensoleillés et dans les rizières avec une eau douce ou légèrement salée.
Les femelles, exophiles, piquent l'homme, leur agressivité est très forte au début du printemps, lorsque les femelles sortent d'hivernation, ainsi que pendant les soirées estivales.
An. hyrcanus ne transmet pas le paludisme mais est signalé vecteur de Dirofllaria immitis.
