Première version (2000) : J. Brunhes, A. Rhaim, B. Geoffroy, G. Angel, J.-P. Hervy, IRD, réalisé en collaboration avec l'Institut Pasteur de Tunis.
Cet identiciel discrimine les 81 espèces culicidiennes présentes en Afrique Méditerranéenne, tant au stade larvaire qu'adulte et ceci à partir d'une approche multicritère illustrée.
Des données sur les caractères diagnostiques, la répartition, la biologie, l'intérêt médical, ainsi qu'une bibliographie sont fournis pour chaque espèce.
Une iconographie relative aux espèces et caractères discriminants retenus complète cet identiciel.
