Phlebotomus simici (M)

Phlebotomus simici Nitzulescu, 1931
Subgenus: Adlerius Nitzulescu, 1931

The male Adlerius species can easily be distinguished from the other subgenera by their characteristic parameral sheath (aedegus)with a subterminal notch or tubercle. The specific discrimination within this subgenera mainly relies on the distance of the notch or tubercle from the tip, the antennal formula, the number and position of gonocoxal hairs.
