Type-loc: South Africa

Differs from Culex brumpti by its antenna bearing only long spines, pale on the basal half, and by its comb of segment VIII formed of scales with long median thorn; sometimes with a minority of scales without long median thorn. Siphonal index from 4.5 to 5.5.
