Anopheles brucei ne peut être distingué d' An. rivulorum .

BIOLOGIE DE L'ESPÈCE
Anopheles brucei est proche d'An. funestus . Il n'est connu que de sa localité-type située au nord du Nigeria.
Cependant, certains anophèles de l'ouest africain identifiés en tant que An. rivulorum pourraient en réalité appartenir à cette espèce.
Les rares données disponibles sur la biologie de cet anophèle concernent la nature de ses gîtes larvaires. Ainsi des larves d'An. brucei ont-elles été récoltées d'une part dans des ruisseaux sous couvert forestier d'autre part dans des lits de rivières en partie asséchées.
